Dr. Lavon Williams, DNP, RN-BC, MSN, PMHNP-BC, GNP-BC

Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who treats clients across the life span. However, her targeted populations of care include adolescent and adult clients with depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADD/ADHD, and substance abuse disorders, as well as, having a specialized focus on the veteran and elderly populations who need mental health care.  Dr. Williams has proudly served our country in the United States Air Force for twenty years, in addition to teaching nursing and caring for her clients.

Dr. Williams also has over twenty years of nursing experience and with her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of South Alabama, she has strategically positioned herself to not only care for her clients but to teach Advanced Practice RNs students how to provide the best care when treating clients.  Dr. Williams teaches in the nursing program at the University of South Alabama, Binghamton University, and Walden University.

Mrs. Nunes is also a locally and nationally recognized Trainer, Consultant, Community Organizer, and Speaker. She has been featured in multiple local and national media interviews with media such as KTVK- News Channel 3, Phoenix Public Access 12, Black Enterprise Magazine, and National Association of Social Workers- AZ Chapter.

Her clinical focus in therapy emphasize Cognitive Behavioral Therapies such as, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Trauma Focused- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Brief Solution-Focused Therapy,  and other modalities that focus on the importance of challenging and changing your thoughts to change your behaviors, find client--focused solutions; thus creating a more positive outlook and lifestyle.  Christian's specialties include: self- empowerment/ personal growth, trauma recovery/ PTSD, interpersonal/relationship issues, culturally sensitive therapy for people of color, and school/workplace stressors. In addition, Christian specializes in program and policy development in behavioral health, education, and prevention.  Her personal mission is to "help empower people to help empower themselves and others."

Christian F. Nunes, MBA, MS, LCSW

is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Coach, Trainer, & Consultant that received her Master of Science degree from Columbia University, and Master of Business Administration from University of Phoenix.  Christian currently serves as an appointed official/ and Chair of the City of Phoenix- Mayor's Commission on Disability Issues, where she co-authored a survey for mental health consumers to assess their perceptions of police when experiencing a mental health crisis.

She founded Wholistic Counseling & Wellness Alternatives, LLC in 2006 based on the belief that  self- reliance is achieved when a person's life is balanced and functioning as a whole.  Christian specializes in providing education and consultation to that includes curricula development, policy and procedure development and review, and culturally competent training and education on mental health and wellness, to the private and public sectors.

Dr. Williams has three post-graduate certifications: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner post-graduate certificate earned from the University of Southern Mississippi; Geriatric Nurse Practitioner post-graduate certificate earned from University of South Alabama; and Adult Nurse Practitioner post-graduate certificate earned from the University of Massachusetts.

 Qualified to practice independently, Dr. Williams offers direct care services including health promotion, illness prevention and rehabilitation in a variety of settings.  She also offers a range of treatment modalities, including holistic treatment options and medication management.
