Michelle Worthy, LPN

Nursing Consultant

is a Licensed Practical Nurse.  She has over 30 years experience providing nursing care and advocacy.  Michelle has worked in various fields of nursing including, but not limited to NICU ,Special and Chronic Health Needs, Pediatrics,Med- Surg, subacute and long term care, and school nursing.  Michelle has also served as an adjuncty faculty training patient care technician students. She specializes in working with pediatric and geriatric populations.  In addition, Michelle provides patient care consultation, assisting community based placements with medication review, monitoring, and care coordination with provides, to ensure patients receive the optimal benefits of their medications and care.

Wayne Bishop, MS

Behavioral Health Consultant

holds a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University and Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from Fairleigh Dickinson University.  He served in the United States Navy 8-years active-duty as Military Police/EOD with multiple deployments and Honorable Discharge.  Wayne uses a variety of approaches to help his clients, based on individual needs, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Therapy, Family Therapy, and Art/Play Therapy.  Mr. Bishop’s experience includes working with clients dealing with single-parenting, addictions, anxiety, grief, anger management concerns, running court ordered sex-offense groups, at risk-youth, and mood disorders.

Erica Young Merritt, MS, MSW, MPA

Behavioral Health Consultant

is a native of Trenton, South Carolina. She found her way back to Arizona after serving for seven honorable years in the United State Air Force.  Erica holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree, Masters of Psychology degree, Masters of Social Work degree, and Masters of Public Administration degree. She has exercised her social work skills in medical social work, hospice social work, psychiatric social work, crisis suicide prevention, and currently works with at risk teens as a school social worker. Erica serves on the Mesa School District Suicide Prevention Taskforce.

Jennifer L. Shepherd, LCSW

is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Arizona where she has been a dedicated social worker for over 25 years.  She is on the Ethics committee at Banner Baywood Hospital.  She has worked with adolescents in group home settings, as well as inpatient behavioral health settings.  She has worked with the geriatric population providing in home care management as well as in the hospital setting doing discharge planning.  She achieved her Bachelors of Social Work from Morehead State University in Kentucky and her Masters of Social Work from University of Kentucky.

Renee Garnier, LCSW


is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My clinical experience includes working with children, adolescent and families and groups at a community mental health agency and in home services as a therapist.
My specialist/ interests  are stress and Anxiety reduction, Depression, Mood Disorders, Self Esteem Issues, Substance Abuse, Recovery and relapse prevention, and Anger management. Renee uses a combination of Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Person Centered approaches to therapy.

Sofia Philips, LMSW


is a Licensed Social Worker who has been professionally working with children and their families for over 18 years. Sofia completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from The University of Arizona and her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Arizona State University. Sofia earned a Child Welfare Specialization Certificate from Arizona State University.
 She has advanced training in the field of infant, early childhood and children’s mental health. Sofia is a professional member of the Infant Toddler Mental Health Coalition of Arizona. Sofia has extensive experience working collaboratively across complex systems of care to support the unique needs of children in the most comprehensive and holistic way.
